It seems Interstate 880 north has plenty of historic signage!  In addition to to the unique "101" overhead in San Jose, a mileage-sign  from the same era (circa 1950s) greets motorists in Milpitas.  This sign, composed of fiber-glass material, usually casts a blackish background on dark or overcast days.
