Vasco Road connects east Contra
Costa County to Interstate 580 in Livermore. Out of pure speculation, Vasco Road may
have served as CA-84 back in the mid 1900s. If looking at a good map,
you'll notice there is another "CA-84" running parallel to CA-160 (due
west) in Sacramento County. Since California is known to split, but not repeat highway
numbers (well, except for CA-65), Vasco Road may be the missing link.
