Back in California, Federal Route 6 gets shield-posted in an unorthodox fashion.  Just north of Bishop, this shield appears.  Its characteristics are tantalising and conspicuous--a three-digit shield houses a single digit.  The single digit itself uses an exotic font which is stretched along its horizontal (x-) axis.
