Federal Route 641 spans from Marion, Kentucky to Exit 126 on Interstate 40 Tennessee.  Certain stretches of the route are referred to as the Clifton B. Cates Memorial Highway.  He's locally known as a hero during the Iwo Jima attacks of World War II, where proud American and Japanese soldiers--much like every war fought since the dawn of humankind-- unnecessarily killed one another.
