In the eastern and southern peripheries of greater-Louisville, Route 1747 is the midmost of three beltways. While the two other counterparts are Interstate-grade highways (Interstate 264 and Interstate 265, respectively), the 1747 is a surface-street boulevard fully outfitted with traffic lights. The route provides access into local entertainment and leisure. Near the route's southern terminus, one can come across the Wildwood and Woodhaven golf-courses.
