Spur Route 1
is located west of Ventimiglia and facilitates a high-speed tunnel crossing into
Menton, France.
Strangely, mainline National Route 1 is stranded at the Spur Route 1's
eastern terminus.
Basically, these routes form a wye intersection with another local route
called Provincial Route 1.
Each fork of the wye hosts each respective highway.
