Interstate 710 runs through the
L.A. suburbs of Alhambra, Downey, Paramount and Long Beach. Before
the route was commissioned an Interstate, it formerly went by the name
"CA-7". I remember a trip to Long Beach in 1996 where a Long
Beach Freeway overhead (in Long Beach) displayed CA-7--as a result, I became
very confused. It was not until a few years ago that I learned this was
indeed the former route, and its present display in Long Beach was just an
anomaly.
