The test assumes uphill-travel is possible, based
on empirical observation.
Step 1: Laying a level on the street surface. Step 1: Bubble-level placed on Empire Mine Road.

Step 2: Reading the level. Should the centermost-bubble point towards the right, then uphill-travel is possible. Should that same bubble point towards the left (i.e., pointing towards Antioch city-limits), then it's truly a downhill stretch. At that point, the perpception of uphill-travel is optical illusion.

Step 3: The results show that uphill-travel is not possible, proving that one's perception of the road is optical illusion. The suggestion of uphill-travel has been concluded as urban legend.
