Autoroute /Autobahn 1 enjoys the longest routing of all Switzerland superhighways.  The route begins in Geneva at the French border, traversing through the capital of Bern before bending east into Zürich.  East of Zürich, the route follows the northern brim of the country before settling into the eastern coast of the Bodensee, near Bregenz , Austria.
