Highway 93 remains unsigned in California, but carries a very important function.  Its main objective is to carry traffic from Interstate 80 west towards the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (Interstate 580).  Coincidentally, there are no direct connectors from Interstate 80 west to Interstate 580 west.
