Pictured above is a transition-ramp from Interstate 680 North to State Route 238.  Note the highway signage uses an Interstate shield instead of a state-route one.   This signage is an error on the part of California's Department of Transportation (CalTrans), since Interstate 238 begins roughly ~twenty miles north from here.  Except for a small stretch near its northern terminus, State Route 238 is exclusively a multi-laned boulevard.
