State Route 221 is a short ~four mile connector between State Route 29 and State Route 121.  Its intended to be a bypass of the State Route 29 freeway, allowing motorists to reach eastern Napa more quickly.  Interestingly, throughout the highway's entire routing, there are no reassurance shields.  The only mentioning of State Route 221 (as of September 2004) are from its signage on termini-highways.
