State Route 138 is one of four main
highways in the Lake Arrowhead/Big Bear Lake region. The other three are
State Route 18, CA 38 and State Route 330. The special distinction for State Route 138, however, is
that it funnels traffic coming from the Los Angeles Mountains (via State Route 2) and the
cities of Lancaster and Palmdale.
