The Badaling Expressway swaths a seventy-kilometre path from Beijing centre to the Great Wall.  Motorists heading from the capital city must endure a drive through the aptly-named Valley of Death, pictured above.  It is here where blind curves and sudden drops in grade have taken the lives of many nighttime motorists.
